Heres a piece that I made for this scholarship…which I ended up muffing my entry in, rendering this work ineligible. I was bummed, but I should have read the fine print. Since I took the time to make it I thought that I would still share.

This is a valentines day piece (despite it’s lack of popular cultural references) that a close friend of mine commissioned me to make for their significant other. It was an interesting experience for me to work with paint, a medium that I am not too familiar with, I had to mix my own colors and work in layers, all of which was challenging for me. It was particularly difficult for me to find the happy medium between what my friend asked for in a painting and my own artistic style. All in all I came up with a piece that we both love and I am eager to work on more! I hope you all enjoy this painting as much as I did making it!
